Cell Tower Construction
 On August 27, 2007, construction on an AT&T cell tower began at St. Barnabas. Two years ago Cingular wireless approached St. Barnabas about putting a cell tower on its property in exchange for a monthly rent. An agreement was made to put in a structure that will look like a bell tower behind the parish hall. All the plans were drawn and the permits received. Then Cingular and AT&T merged and all plans for new construction were put on hold. Although the contract was renewed last fall it began to look like the project would never happen. Then, in the middle of August St. Barnabas was contacted by AT&T and the company who will be doing the construction indicating that the project had received a green light. A week later the bull dozers arrived. Although the effects of the project should be minimal on the daily life of St. Barnabas, there will be construction going on behind the parish hall, near the playground. Because of this we are asking parents to not let their children out on the playground since we cannot guarantee the safety of the area. The project is expected to be completed well before December 1, 2007.
